Sand Box Fun

Over spring break, we decided to buy a sand box. We weren't going anywhere for the week, but want I wanted to have something fun for Mollie to do throughout the week. I also wanted to see how Mollie would react to sand. I know of a lot of kids her age that don't love the beach because of the sand on their feet and on their bodies. I wanted to make sure that wouldn't be a problem since we are going to be at the beach for 2 weeks this summer. I didn't want to have to go inside because Mollie wasn't happy about the sand.

So... we bought the sand box. I am so glad we did. It was just as I thought. She didn't love it like I wanted her too. But as the week went on, we got more and more comfortable. Here are some pictures from our sandbox fun!

As the weeks have gone by, she has began to LOVE the sand. Here are some updated pictures of this little girl playing.

I can't wait to share pictures from our time on the beach with the sand. I would say she is much more comfortable these days. She is growing up so much!

Swim Lessons

Back in December, David and I decided that Mollie needed to have swim lessons. With all of the water in our lives (the lake house, my mom's pool, the neighborhood pool), we decided this was a necessity for Mollie for safety reasons. Soon after that, we had to put tubes in Mollie's ears. We decided to wait until spring to start classes so that we could do the tubes in early January.

At the end of April we started lessons. Here is a picture of Mollie on the first day of classes.

The best part about swim lessons for me was that David wanted to be a huge part of them. We both got to go to the lessons, but he always got in the pool with Mollie for the actual lesson. I wanted to be there to see what they did so I would know what to do this summer, but I wanted David to get to be in the pool with her. She did so well and loved every bit of it.

She immediately wanted to get in and play. She started jumping in off the side and "swimming" to a rubber duck (her favorite part) to catch the duck. She loved it. She doesn't quite understand that you have to "paddle" and "kick" at the same time, but she will do them separately at this time.

Here are some pictures of her at swim lessons:

She loved swimming lessons!

I'm Back!!

The past few weeks have been crazy with internet. For some reason, my computer dropped the internet signal and refused to connect. This caused me to have very spotty internet for the past couple weeks. The only internet I had was on my phone. That was very difficult for me (especially because we had a lot going on that I needed to blog about). Hopefully in these next coming days I will be able to catch up on the happenings in the Evanina's life.

Here are just a few pictures about the upcoming posts:
