Crazy Dreams

So lately I have had some CRAZY dreams. Even before I was pregnant I had very vivid dreams, but I am at the point where I dream, wake up, and have to convince myself that it didn't just happen.

I think that relazation of having this baby is playing over and over in my head. I go to the doctor on Wednesday to figure out what the plan is if this sweet baby is still breech. I can pretty much tell you that she still is... she is comfy and not movin!

Last night I dreamt that David and I went to my 33 week visit (coming up on Wednesday). During the visit the nurse did her normal blood pressure, urine, weight, and how are you feeling check. Then she told me that it was time to have the baby! All I could think of was that I was only 33 weeks and I couldn't have the baby yet. Nothing in her room was ready and I didn't even have a hospital bag packed. NOT AN OPTION! But... in my dream we called our parents. They all came when we were in the hospital room. The nurse had decided that it was going to be a c-section. (No doctor even came into the room). I was freaking out! They led me to the operating table and only my mom came with me. I kept asking for David and he was hiding in the hospital room... freaking out himself. My mom just kept shouting "This baby is 33 weeks... she is not coming yet!" I was telling the nurse over and over... her lungs aren't finished developing, her brain isn't finished growing, and WE are NOT ready for this baby! Finally, I woke myself up from the dream. It was so scary.... so all morning long I have been organizing her room, making a list of what we haven't gotten, and thinking of all the things I need to pack in the hospital bag. I guess this is the true form of nesting.

I know that God has a plan, but I think the relazation of having the baby is the scary part. I am not scared to carry her to term or a little before or after.... I am not scared to hold this precious angel in my arms once she is here... but having her scares me to death! I know that many women have done it, and many will continue to do it, but I just have a nervousness about me when I think about delivering a baby. I just pray that everything is safe and there are LOTS of drugs!

Busy Weekend

This weekend was one busy baby weekend!!!  On Friday night I decided to organize our little girl's room. I pulled everything out that we had already gotten and put it in piles based on age and size.

David and I decided that we would wake up on Saturday morning and head to some garage sales to see what we could find. We woke up and the neighbor 2 houses down was having a sale. I thought... wow... this is meant to be. We RACKED up! We bought all kinds of stuff including tons of clothes. I can't wait to hang them all up and get them ready for her.

On Sunday one of my great friends, Diana, hosted a baby shower at my house. Family and friends came and we had a great time! We got lots of great stuff for this baby. We started with delicious food, played a trivia game, opened presents, and then everyone had the chance to guess the baby's name. No one guessed it. I love that we have been able to keep it a secret for so long. I can't wait to introduce her to everyone once she is here!

We have so much more organizing to do to get ready, but I feel so excited about all of the things we have ready to go!! I will post belly pics later this week! I know it has been a while since I have posted one!

Latest Doctor's Appt

On Tuesday I went for my 31 week check up. Things looked really great and the doctor was really happy with my numbers from my blood sugar checks. He told me I only needed to check my sugar 2 times a day now. He said I must check it in the morning and then I need to either check after breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This makes my life so much easier. He said that as of right now I will just need to regulate my sugars by my diet. We are hoping this is how it stays for the rest of the pregnancy. The doctor said that the baby is still breech, so if she doesn't turn in the next 4 weeks we will be scheduling a c-section. He also said that everything looked so good there wasn't any reason to see me next week and he would see me in 2 weeks. Being a high risk pregnancy, I am supposed to go every week unless the doctor doesn't see it necessary. Obviously, this is a good sign.

The baby's room is coming together quickly. The crib and dresser is completely together. We got the stroller and bedding this week as gifts. It feels great to finally be getting things together. I can't wait to have this baby girl's room together. We are so excited to have things coming together. I think I am officially in the nesting mode. I think about decorating this room 24/7.

As I finish my last week of school with kids, I remember that I will soon have my own little mind to mold and influence. This makes me so nervous, excited, and every other emotion you can think of. I am so lucky to have fabulous students at school that help me remember how to be the best I can be every day, because someone is always watching. I am always influencing and molding someone.

30 weeks

10 more weeks! AHH That is a scary sound, but so exciting! I can't wait for this precious little one to get here. I am getting more and more excited about it every time I think about it!

Last week I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I have to check my blood sugar 4 times a day and have a strict "meal plan" consisting of 6 meals that I need to follow throughout the day. I have done very well and my sugars look very good so far. It is just something I am trying to get used to. At times I am starving and can't wait to eat, and then other times it is time to eat and it takes everything to eat the meal for that time. I am sure I will get used to it and each time I think about complaining, I know I am doing this for this precious human being growing inside of me. One positive is that I now have to go to the doctor each week and get a few more ultrasounds to make sure that she isn't getting too big. I am hoping she will turn soon. Last time I went, she was still breech... so hopefully soon she will decide to turn. I just don't want her to get too big and not be able to turn when it is time.

This past weekend was spent with my dad's side of the family. We got to watch my cousin graduate from college. It was so great to see everyone, especially the cousins that are from Colorado. I love getting to spend time with the family!

This week is my last week with my students. It is kind of bittersweet. I am ready for the school year to end, but I will miss my 5th graders so much. One of the perks about my job is having my students year after year. I get to see them grow and mature throughout the years. It is amazing how far some of them have come since I started teaching them. I know they are moving on to bigger and better things, but they have been "my kids" for the past 4 years. Many of them I have had since they were in 2nd grade. So, seeing them move to middle school makes me so happy, but will make me miss them. I am so proud of who they are today!

the crazy emotions

It is amazing the different emotions that have taken over my body since I have been pregnant....

At first, I started with a nervous feeling that at any moment something could happen to this precious baby growing inside me.... I was nervous about the feeling of being a mom... nervous about providing and caring for such a little baby.

Then I moved on to this excited feeling. I can't stop smiling when it comes to being pregnant and knowing that there is a baby moving around in there. Every time I felt a kick or movement, I just smiled knowing that everything was still ok in there.

Now I am onto the 3rd trimester and onto the next feeling. I am at the point that I am nervous about having the baby. What will it feel like? What do I have to do? How do you plan for something that is unplanned? So many questions and so many different things running through my mind.

I am so in love with this little one growing inside me already. I want her to have the best life possible. I want to make her life the best that it can be before she is even here. I am so excited and ready to have her here.... to hold her in my arms. I can't wait to meet this precious little girl growing inside me.

I know these are all normal feelings. I am sure that many women have had them before me. I just hope that God will give me some of the answers I need to help put me at peace.
