Yesterday, David and I went to the doctor for the weekly appointment. I have had 2 good appointments before this one, so I was under the impression that things were going to be great! Within the past week, I have swollen tremendously and have been very uncomfortable. My hands hurt and my feet look like oompa loompa feet as the day goes on.
When we walked in they checked my weight... gaining 3 pounds.... most of which I think was because of the swelling. Then the nurse took me back to the room to check my blood pressure. It was really high! The doctor came in immediately and sent me to the hospital. He told me that he was diagnosing me with preclamsia. This is high blood pressure and can have some horrible reactions on my body as well as put the baby under stress if it is not treated. Immediately, I cried and called my mom to come sit with me. David had an interview yesterday and I didn't want him to miss that!
When I got to the hospital my blood pressure was high still!!! They had me lay on my side and my bp came down tremendously, but whenever I would roll on my back, it would go right back up. Finally, after a few good bp's and blood work, I was able to go home. I am now on bedrest until Tuesday. At that point I will go back to the doctor and he will check me again. Then we will make a game plan of the next steps. I will be 37 weeks on Wednesday and he said before I left yesterday that I would probably deliver between 37 and 38 weeks.... SOON!!!!
I am so excited to meet my little girl, but I just pray that she is healthy and ready to come! She has been moving so much lately and I know that is something I will miss once she is here. I love feeling a tab and a punch, knowing she is alright. I know that I will be in the best of hands once we make the decision of when to have her (even if it is early...)
Please continue to keep us in your prayers. I will update throughout the weekend if needed and will definitely update after the doctor's appointment on Tuesday morning.

A week of celebration!
The next week is going to be a very fun packed, exciting time! Tomorrow morning I will have my weekly doctor's appointment. I can't wait to see what the latest is on my little one. Then we will kick off a family weekend with my mom's family. This weekend, all of my mom's brothers and sisters will be in town to celebrate together. Tomorrow afternoon we will kick off the weekend with a girl's lunch at my aunt's house. Then we will spend the rest of the weekend at my grandfather's house by the pool to hang out and spend family time. I am so excited! We will end the weekend on Sunday with church and a brunch with family for Father's day with my grandfather.
Sunday will also be David's first Father's Day. This baby is so lucky to have such an amazing daddy who loves her so much already! People tell me that I am going to spoil her rotten, but I don't think they have any idea how much she is going to be spoiled by her daddy either. He is going to be the best daddy ever!
On Sunday, David and I will also celebrate our 1 year anniversary! I am such a lucky girl to have such an amazing husband. I know that we won't be able to see each other on Sunday, but I am so happy and lucky to have a husband that works so hard for this family. I am hoping that we will be able to celebrate with at least a dinner before this sweet little one comes.
Thursday of next week is David's birthday. We are hoping that he might be able to come in town for a couple days before the next job so that we can celebrate all of these fun things. Even if it is just for one day, we will definitely celebrate these exciting things. Even if he can't come in town in between jobs, we will find a time to celebrate together for sure!

The Nursery!
My mom and sister came over yesterday to help me organize the nursery and get it ready for this little baby! My mom is such an organizer that I knew she would be the best person for the job. She dug right in... I wish I had gotten pictures of her trying to clean house... it was great! Here are some pictures of the nursery.
The before... scary!!!
The after! Thank goodness!!!!
Now we will be moving to the guest room so that we can get things together for those that want to visit and my mom when she comes to stay to help me get on a schedule with the little one! I won't even post a picture, because it is so scary!! It is more of a storage room than a guest room right now. Hopefully soon people will be able to find the bed enough to sleep in there!

The good and the bad....
THE GOOD....
Here are the best ultrasound pics from our little girl that were taken when we went on Thursday.
Here she is sucking that thumb! She did this the whole time we were in the room.
Here is her face.... she has my nose and David's mouth. Her little hand has moved away from her face for just a minute.
THE BAD...
Yesterday I said goodbye to David for the next 2 or 3 weeks. He is working for the playground company and will be gone building 2 different playgrounds. This is the hard part of the job.... he has to go out of town to do his job. We are working hard to find a job in town, but we are having such a hard time with this. It will just get harder and harder for him to leave when the baby is here. He and I both dread every moment the day that he has to leave. We know that we need his job to support this family, but it is so hard when he is not in town.
Just in case this baby decides to come early, we have worked out a plan for him to come home immediately once I call. I think one reason I was so emotional when he left was because I couldn't help but think what am I going to do if he isn't here to help me through this huge part of life? But... I know I have a huge support group and my mom has stepped up to the plate to help me as my coach if he can't be there. I also think I was so emotional because this weekend is our 1 year anniversary. I want to be able to share such a special day in our lives together with him, but I know that he is where he needs to be.... supporting this family. I just wish it wasn't so far away.
I know that God has a plan for everything in our lives, and I am working very hard in rememebering that each time I say goodbye to David. I know that God will have this baby come when the time is right, and He will always give me the courage to do whatever I need to do for this family. I remember that every time I feel a push, kick, or punch from this baby growing inside my belly.

Week 34 appt
On Thursday, David and I went to our 34 week appt. We started with an ultrasound. It was absolutely amazing to see our little girl. For most of her "photo shoot" she was sucking her thumb. The ultrasound tech had a difficult time getting good pictures of certain things. Our little girl is already a princess and didn't like that the tech was having to poke her to get pictures. Whenever she would run the camera over my belly, our little girl would kick, punch, or move so that she had more room. We did find out that she a head full of hair (the reason for my crazy heartburn is explained) and she has turned head down so she is ready to come whenever. Her heartrate was 148. She is currently 5 lbs and 3 oz. She should gain about a half a pound every week until delivery, so that would put her right at 8lbs. if she goes to term. Perfect size baby! The ultrasound was ordered because of my high BP, but everything looked great and the baby looked very healthy! We can't wait to meet her and are already so in love with her!
The doctor said things looked great and I will start going weekly again just in case my blood pressure decides to spike again. My BP was way down... I think it helped being able to see my little one and know that everything is alright with her.
I will update later this week with pictures from the ultrasound if I can get them on here. Thank you for your continued prayers and concerns. We have such an amazing group of friends, family, and extended family that constantly have us in their prayers. We can't wait to show you all our little one! Oh and for those of you wanting to know her name.... please know that we will share that when she makes her special debut! We can't wait to share the name we hand picked for our little girl! I promise you will all know the minute she is born.

Update to week 33 appt. and 34 week photo
Under doctor's orders... I rested and relaxed as much as I could all day Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning. I took lots of deep breaths and thought... I am going to the beach.... no questions asked.
I even packed a bag for the hospital just in case he sent me to the hospital. It is kind of like having an umbrella in the car and it doesn't rain, but when you don't have it, it pours! I packed everything I would need to be comfy in the hospital, and just thought good thoughts all the way to the doctor.
When I got there, I was called back quickly. I still remained the same weight (good news) and then went back to the room where the scary blood pressure cuff came out. I took 3 big breaths and thought let's go to the beach. The nurse said that it was still a little high, but wasn't anywhere near where it was on Wednesday. She said she would talk to the doctor and put in a good word for the beach and he would retake my BP when he came it to make sure it came down.
He walked in and checked the baby. He said she was perfect... still breech... but perfect! Then he checked my blood pressure 3 times and said it was perfect. He released me to go to the beach, told me not to check my blood pressure, and just be cautious and don't do anything strenuous. So that afternoon we left for the beach. Here are some pics that we took on our 5 day get away with family. We knew this would be the last vacation for a while, so we lived it up!

Week 33 appt.... putting a hault in the plans...
This morning I had my 33 week appt. I was pumped and ready for him to clear me to take our family trip to Charleston. He wanted to make sure that my blood sugars and blood pressure were ok before saying that I could go on the week long trip.
I got there and was called back immediately (my favorite thing about my doctor). The nurse did the normal checks. I hadn't gained any weight, my urine count looked good, and we headed back to the room to check my blood pressure. She looked at me and asked why my heart was beating so fast. Of all days, I was calm and collected when I walked in for the appointments. Usually I am a nervous wreck about the doctor. She said that the doctor would recheck me when he came in and to think calm, relaxing thoughts. When the doctor came in, he checked the baby and said she was still breech, but that she was good in there. He said that if my blood pressure didn't come down before I left the office that I had won a trip to the hospital. All I could think about was my dream from this weekend (see previous post)... I was not going to let that happen! My BP was down enough that he sent me home, but ordered me not to exercise or do anything that would cause stress on my body. He ordered a bunch of blood work (4 tubes of blood) and told me he would see me again on Friday. So... I have propped up on the couch and will watch TV until I go back on Friday.
The doctor decided not to schedule a c-section or try to turn her until week 36 at the earliest. He said that she seems to continue to have plenty of room... seeing that she has turned a full 180 in my stomach in the last 2 weeks. Her head was facing the right side of my body last time I went to the doctor, but now it is facing toward the left side of my body. She is just rolling around trying to find a comfy spot. Hopefully, her movements will not be an indication of how she is later in life...
I will update later this week and let everyone know the latest information.
Thank you for all of the prayers and concern. We really appreciate them!
